Shreyas Iyer continues his recovery in a Sydney hospital after suffering a life-threatening injury during the third ODI between India and Australia recently. Iyer was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering a laceration to the spleen while attempting a successful catch of Australian batter Alex Carey. The Indian middle-order batter looked in unbearable pain and was taken off the field before being admitted to a hospital.
According to Dainik Jagran , Iyer’s medical reports were sent to Dinshaw Pardiwala, head of the ICC Medical Committee, BCCI Medical Panel, and the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Centre for Sports Medicine. Pardiwala reportedly told the BCCI that the board’s medical team’s timely intervention on the ground has saved Iyer’s life.
