NILES — Devon Stanley’s stay in jail looks to be longer, as a judge ordered him to be held without bail.

Stanley, a Liberty trustee, Girard Municipal Court prosecutor and the county’s deputy clerk of courts, appeared in Niles Municipal Court for his arraignment Monday morning. He was booked on a charge of felonious assault Friday.

According to a Niles Police Department report, a captain was contacted by a Trumbull County Children’s Services Board representative, who was told that a referral was made to them about a woman who was involved in a domestic violence incident Thursday afternoon.

Officers working security detail at Friday’s Niles McKinley High School football game with Girard made contact with Stanley, who was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Trumbull County jail.
