A San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy was killed on Monday while responding to reports of an armed man threatening a woman in Rancho Cucamonga. This incident led to a high-speed chase that concluded dramatically on a Southern California freeway.
Deputy Andrew Nunez, who had served the department for six years, was identified as the officer who was killed.
According to a police release, Nunez leaves behind a two-year-old daughter and a pregnant wife. “We are deeply saddened," said Sheriff Shannon Dicus at a press briefing. “Sadly, this has become all too common for our department."
