WXIN/WTTV -- Several consumer groups are urging the Federal Communications Commission to abandon a plan to roll back rules meant to cut down on the number of robocalls we all receive each day.
In a recent letter to the FCC, groups like the National Consumer Law Center expressed concern that changing the rules would unleash an “unstoppable” wave of spam calls across the country.
The FCC is considering eliminating several robocall rules, including company-specific do-not call lists, which require companies to maintain their own list of consumers who ask not to be called for five years. That’s in addition to the federal do-not-call list.
