COLUMBUS, Ohio — If you think your phone is ringing more often than not with spam calls, you’re not alone.
Research by consumer groups reveals that one in three Ohioans now receives a scam call daily, and businesses across the state report rising annoyance and financial exposure.
A Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) study finds that, rather than decreasing, robocall volumes increased 20% year over year. Of the more than 9,000 phone companies registered with the Federal Communications Commission, fewer than half have implemented anti-robocall software as required by law. The question is why?
