Andhra Braces for Cyclone Montha Landfall; IMD Warns of Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Bay of Bengal: Cyclonic storm Montha is moving toward the Andhra Pradesh coast and is expected to make landfall near Kakinada around midnight on Tuesday. The storm, currently intensifying into a “severe cyclonic storm,” may bring wind speeds up to 110 kmph. The Andhra Pradesh government has issued high alerts in Kakinada, Konaseema, West Godavari, Eluru, and East Godavari districts. CM N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure zero casualties, with 269 rehabilitation centres set up and over 80 NDRF and SDRF teams deployed. Odisha and northern Tamil Nadu are also expected to experience heavy rainfall and strong winds as the storm progresses inland.
