Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak named a new director to lead the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department, filling a seat that's been vacant since Cindi Wight stepped down in June .
Phil Lewis is set to join the city administration with 25 years of experience in the field, having previously worked across the West Coast. Most recently, he served as the CEO and general manager of the Cosumnes Community Services District in Elk Grove, California, which provides parks, recreation, fire and emergency medical services.
Lewis holds a master's degree in parks, recreation and tourism management from North Carolina State University and a bachelor's in public administration from Eastern Oregon University.
