Being creative is in the cards for Pam Porta.

The Monroe County resident makes hand-stitched cards for all occasions.

“I actually started out years ago with cross stitching, which eventually led me to embroidery. I have always loved working with thread and creating designs by hand,” Porta said in an email. “One day, I came across the idea of embroidering on paper and I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?’”
