New Delhi, Oct 28: Delhi is set to experience its first artificial rain through cloud seeding, with a plane carrying scientists taking off from Kanpur to the Burari area.
The flight was delayed due to low visibility but is now en route and expected to reach in about two and a half hours. The initiative, supported by the Delhi government and the Ministry of Environment, aims to combat air pollution by inducing rain within a 100-kilometer radius.
Favorable weather conditions and cloud presence have been noted, with potential rain expected on October 29. This historic experiment is part of the government’s broader strategy to mitigate toxic air in the capital.
