STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— Gov. Kathy Hochul says that New York state will be investing an “unprecedented” amount of money on road improvements, including several on Staten Island.
Hochul recently announced that the state Department of Transportation would invest $600 million across 180 separate projects on New York’s roads, all to be completed in 2026.
In total, the projects will cover around 2,150 miles of lanes across the state.
“As someone who has ridden on virtually every mile of every state road across New York, I know firsthand every curve and every pothole, and next year we will be making an unprecedented investment to improve state roads across New York,” Hochul said in a statement.
