Hurricane Melissa has turned into a Category 5 storm as it approaches Jamaica. The Caribbean is bracing for "life-threatening" floods , with winds expected to hit 160 mph.

The Canadian government has intensified its advisories for travel to popular Caribbean countries due to the storm, advising travelers to "avoid non-essential travel."

In the meantime, several airlines are making adjustments, including Canadian carriers such as Air Canada and Air Transat. Both airlines have several flights to Montego Bay that have been modified for both October 28 and October 29.
