Greenville, S.C. (WSPA)- An Upstate nonprofit is hoping to break stigma and raise awareness for drug prevention with art.

The Phoenix Center in Greenville will host Red Ribbon Week with an art community night Tuesday Oct 28 from 5-8 pm.

The Red Ribbon Week is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention initiative and started in 1985.

It has been a way to include elementary and middle school students in drug prevention efforts.

Now it will include high school students and keep them engaged through hosting an art competition at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts.

You can attend the free event featuring artwork created by highschoolers, raffles and games.
