A flight left Kanpur on Tuesday to carry out a trial cloud-seeding experiment over Delhi's Burari area, in an effort to induce artificial rain in the hope of improving Delhi's 'very poor' air quality.

According to Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, this comes after IIT Kanpur's Cessna aircraft was unable to take-off earlier today due to poor visibility and moisture levels below 50 per cent. The Cessna is now scheduled to land in Meerut, after which its future schedule will be decided, subject to the weather.
