Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a comprehensive midday weather bulletin today from its Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, sounding an alarm over the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Montha” (pronounced Mon-Tha) poised to strike the Andhra Pradesh coast, with significant repercussions expected across Odisha.
As of 0830 hrs IST, the cyclone, centered near latitude 14.9°N and longitude 82.9°E, is approximately 160 km south-southeast of Machilipatnam, 240 km south-southeast of Kakinada, 320 km south-southwest of Visakhapatnam, and 530 km south-southwest of Gopalpur.
