Edinburgh star Mark Bonnar has revealed the reason he decided to take part in Celebrity Traitors and said he initially turned down the chance.

The Line of Duty, Shetland and Dept Q actor said he had serious reservations about joining the celebrity edition, admitting he had never done anything similar before, reports The Record.

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland’s Lunchtime Live, he said: “I took quite a while to make up my mind about it. I really wasn't sure because I've never done anything like that before... I'm not a celebrity, I'm an actor.”

Bonnar soon agreed, a decision he later described as one he did not regret. Once in the game, he quickly found himself drawn into the psychological tension that has made The Traitors a cultural phenomenon.
