COLUMBIA, S.C. — Wet, cool, and breezy weather is expected to continue today as cold air damming remains firmly in place across the region. The wedge pattern has kept clouds, drizzle, and light rain in the forecast, especially for areas east of I-26.
Early this morning, scattered showers and pockets of drizzle were ongoing, providing some much-needed rainfall for parts of the Midlands.
Even as some drier air filters in, the low-level moisture will stick around through tonight, keeping skies gray and damp. Temperatures will once again struggle to get out of the 50s, with very little change from Monday’s readings. On Monday the airport hit a high of 56 degrees.
