FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – The GVAC Sea Dragons swim team competed in the Halloween Sprints Meet hosted by the Rockbridge Storm in Lexington, Virginia, on Oct. 25 and 26. This was the first meet of the season, and all swimmers had personal best times or first-time swims.
The most improved swimmer was Austin Gill, whose times improved by over 60%. New team records in their competition categories were set by Zoey Hobbs (100Y IM), Milyn Neumann (50Y breast), Emily Hobbs (50Y back), Tianna Allen (50Y back), and Luke Taylor (200Y free, 100Y breast, and 50Y fly).
One of the most exciting races of the meet was the girls 11 and over medley relay, in which the Sea Dragons (Avery Hodges-McGuffin, Milyn Neumann, Emily Hobbs, Tianna Allen) were out-touched by the Storm for first place by only one hundre
