A seriously-ill Aberdeen schoolboy who has been listening to sea shanty star Nathan Evans to get him through his surgeries was left thrilled after meeting the singer in Glasgow.

Baxter Dick faced a string of complex health problems after being born, including spina bifida and fluid on the brain.

And against all odds despite not being expected to survive, he has battled back, but had to face 14 operations in the last three years, including one recent hospital stay which last three months.

His mum Ailsa said she was able to tell Nathan how much his music means to her son when the family met him and Scots pop duo Saint Phnx for a sound check ahead of their sold-out Hydro show on Saturday - the day of Baxter’s 14th birthday, reports the Daily Record .
