ISLAMABAD, Oct. 28: At least 21 school children were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside drain after being hit by a truck in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province on Tuesday, rescue officials said.
The accident occurred on Bypass Road in Sheikhupura district, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 told Xinhua.
“Following the collision, the school bus fell into a drain. Our teams immediately reached the site and shifted 15 injured children to a nearby hospital, while six others were given first aid on the spot,” the Rescue 1122 official said.
Local police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. (UNI)
