Residents are being warned of major delays in A&E at University Hospital Coventry . Wait times are around six hours today (October 28).

Staff at UHCW said they are 'extremely busy' and care is being prioritised for people in urgent need. Only those with life-threatening conditions are being seen this morning (October 28).

Patients with less serious medical issues are advised to use their GP or NHS 111. Officials stressed that attending A&E for non-urgent conditions can increase wait times for those in critical need.
