BISMARCK — North Dakota’s Legislative Council is in the process of training an AI tool that could be introduced for the 2027 session to save lawmakers time.
Legislative Council is a nonpartisan service agency that supports the state’s lawmakers.
The goal of the AI tool is to draft summaries of what a bill does at the end of the session — something currently done manually by Legislative Council’s legal team for the roughly 600 bills passed each session — and eventually draft summaries for proposed bills or amendments to bills during session for lawmakers.
