Team India’s vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has come out of the ICU and is recovering quickly after his rib injury during the Sydney ODI. Shreyas underwent minor surgery and is recovering well, a source in the know of things told India Today on Tuesday, October 28.
Shreyas spoke to several teammates over the phone and started consuming solid food. Sources have also stated that the Mumbai batter appears to be in a positive mental state. It’s expected that his recovery will accelerate once his family joins him. BCCI’s team doctor is with Shreyas and is taking full care of him.
Shreyas suffered the injury during the 3rd ODI as he was trying to complete a sensational catch to dismiss Alex Carey in the 34th over of the contest. However, the Indian vice-captain fell down awkwardly and hurt himself,
