A s Cyclone Montha, the first major storm of the season, approaches, Odisha is preparing for heavy rainfall and strong winds, especially in the southern and coastal districts.

Although the cyclone is not expected to make a direct landfall in Odisha, heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted in areas such as Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur between October 28 and 29, which have been categorized under the Red Zone.

In anticipation of the cyclone, the 108 Emergency Medical Ambulance Service, operated by EMRI Green Health Services, has implemented extensive preparedness measures to ensure uninterrupted emergency medical response during and after the storm.
