The Dharwad bench of the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday placed an interim stay on the state government's order prohibiting RSS shakhas and gatherings of more than 10 people in public places without permission.

The state government's decision came after Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge suggested a ban on RSS activities in public places. Following this, the cabinet decided on October 18th that no processions or shakhas would be allowed in public places, roads, and government premises without permission.

Regarding the High Court's interim stay order, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that his government would appeal to a division bench of the High Court. The next hearing in the case will be held on November 17th.
