LOGAN, OH – A Logan man struck it big with a $150,000 prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $5 Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 50x scratch-off game — and the win came completely by surprise.

The lucky winner bought his ticket “on a whim” at Station 177 Food & Fuel , located at 37363 Rocky Boots Way in Logan , before heading back to his car to pump gas and start scratching.

His wife, sitting beside him, encouraged him to “keep scratching” as the numbers revealed the game’s second-tier $150,000 prize . The couple said they were both in shock after realizing they had won.

Currently in the process of building a new home, the winner said the unexpected windfall will help cover the costs of finishing the project. After federal and state tax withholdings, he will take home approximately $109,312 .
