What does a feast for Halloween look like to you? For better or worse, this opportunity for indulging in candy and adult beverages masquerading as a holiday has no definitive canon when it comes to food, unlike the other big seasonal celebrations around the corner.
The most obvious Halloween spread is a bucketful of trick-or-treat loot spilled across the kitchen table. (Nothing wrong with that!) Or maybe you envision a tray of dirt pudding cups (chocolate custard, crumbled Oreos, gummy worms, the works) or dirt cake (similar idea, but using a chocolate sheet cake, with or without the pudding layer).
With no set expectations to meet, you can let your (or others’) imagination run as wild as you’d like. Cookie fingers with sliced almond nails? Yes. A severed hand “scare-cuterie” board? Time
