A protester at an anti-Trump rally got up from his seat and started moving toward the man wearing a Make America Great Again hat and shirt.
“Oh geez,” thought organizer Kate Naden.
It wasn’t the first time a supporter of President Donald Trump came to one of Naden’s anti-Trump rallies in Romeo, a small village on the border of two Macomb County townships that gave Trump 69% of their vote.
Those prior interactions stayed calm. Would an argument break out this time?
Protests denouncing the policies and stances of Trump, dubbed No Kings, took place across the country on Oct. 18 . Attendees expressed alarm for what they describe as an increasingly authoritarian approach by the president. Trump supporters, in turn, rebuke that claim.
