ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - Plans to put a 275-foot financial trading tower in Clay Township have reportedly been scrapped.
According to St. Joseph County Councilmember Amy Drake, who represents Clay Township, the petitioner pulled the project on Tuesday morning.
The tower would have been used to handle vast amounts of data for financial transactions between Chicago and New York.

Neighbors within the area of the proposed tower off Ironwood just south of the Indiana-Michigan state line rallied against it, citing property value concerns.
Councilmembers also spoke out against the tower, indicating there would not be support if it came up for a public vote.
