NEW DELHI: Cyclone Montha's landfall process near Andhra coast began late Tuesday evening, and is set to continue for three-four hours, the IMD said. As the cyclone is expected to cross the coast around 11.30pm, an overnight ban on vehicular movements has been imposed in affected areas. "Latest observations indicate that the landfall process has commenced. The landfall process will continue for (the) next three to four hours," it said. The system is expected to make landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast — between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada — within the next three to four hours as a severe cyclonic storm, with sustained winds of 90–100 kmph and gusts reaching 110 kmph, the forecast said.
