Spotify has informed customers that it will raise the price of its top-tier subscription service for the second time in eighteen months .
The world's largest music streaming platform sent an email to all of its Premium customers on Monday, notifying them of a price increase coming into effect in the coming weeks.
The cost for the ad-free and on demand service for individual users will rise from £11.99/month to £12.99/month on the next billing date. This equates to an 8.3% increase.
The last hike, also of £1, was introduced in the spring of 2024 .
The email stated: "The price of Premium Individual is increasing so that we can invest in our product, develop new features and continue to bring you the best experience."
The app, which launched in 2008, has 615 million user
