FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — After starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was limited all week with a knee injury, reports circulated over the weekend that Kirk Cousins would start in his place . Those reports turned into reality as Penix was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins when the team released the inactives list.

Head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Friday that Cousins had taken more and more first-team reps as the week went on in preparation should Penix not be able to go. With the news now official, Cousins will be the team's starter Sunday.
