Former Irmo teacher arrested again, facing additional sex charge involving minor

IRMO, S.C. (WIS) - A former Midlands teacher arrested earlier this year is back in custody and facing a sex-related charge involving a minor.

Public court records show 33-year-old Sulaymaan Benoit was arrested Tuesday and charged with a count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11.

More details regarding his Tuesday arrest were not immediately available. Records show Benoit was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center following his arrest.

Benoit, a former after-school director and a substitute teacher at Green Charter School of the Midlands in Irmo, was charged in February with eight counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
