An Essex County veterinarian has agreed to permanently surrender his license following allegations that inadequate care at his Newark practice led to the deaths of several animals.

State officials said Dr. Ehren Seth Yablon, owner of Newark Veterinary Hospital, engaged in repeated negligence and misconduct, including keeping sick puppies in unsanitary conditions and failing to provide proper treatment.

Two parvovirus-positive Husky puppies and a bulldog under his care later died.

Yablon has been suspended since May 2022 under an interim order.

Under a final consent order filed this month, he permanently retired from practicing veterinary medicine in New Jersey and surrendered his authority to prescribe controlled substances.
