A 37-year-old woman in New York will spend several years behind bars for nearly killing her own father, stabbing him multiple times in the chest during an argument over a backed-up toilet inside their family home. A judge in Orange County last week ordered Kimberly Mann to serve seven years in a state correctional facility for the horrific attack on her father last year, authorities announced.

Following her release from prison, Mann will be required to complete an additional five years of supervised release.

Mann pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement to one count of first-degree assault, admitting she "intentionally caused serious physical injury" to her father by "means of a dangerous instrument."
