The Patriots locked up their All-Pro punt returner and shutdown cornerback.

New England agreed to a three-year contract extension with Marcus Jones , a source confirmed to MassLive. The Patriots made it official on Tuesday afternoon.

The versatile 2022 second-round pick entered the NFL as a punt returner but boasted the ability to play cornerback. Now in 2025, Jones’ defense has been on full display.

Going into New England’s Week 8 win over the Cleveland Browns, Jones allowed three catches on 12 targets for 58 yards at cornerback.

Through eight games this season, Jones has 27 tackles, two interceptions and nine passes defended.
