DENVER (KDVR) -- Children's Hospital Colorado is getting the word out about how kids can stay safe while trick-or-treating on Halloween night.
The hospital said Tuesday that cars pose the largest danger to children on Halloween night, on account of increased foot traffic and low pedestrian visibility.
With this in mind, CHC offered the following tips for kids and anyone else planning on walking around on Halloween night: • All children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult • Stick to well-lit homes in familiar neighborhoods • Wait to eat candy until at home to avoid potential choking • Avoid going inside strangers' homes • Stay with a group
