HOUSTON, Texas — Just days before Halloween, CandyWarehouse.com, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, Newsweek reported .
Based in Sugar Land, Texas, the online retailer listed assets in the range of $100,000–$500,000 and liabilities between $1 million and $10 million in its filing, according to NewsWeek.
The company, long known for supplying bulk candy, party goods and sweets to hotels, event planners and retail customers, said it aims to keep operating while it restructures under court supervision, The Economic Times reported .
CandyWarehouse.com pointed to declining sales, rising costs and weakening e-commerce performance as pressures that left it insolvent just ahead of Halloween.
