Marcus Jones is in the middle of the best season of his career, and now he’s being rewarded for it.

The Patriots on Tuesday announced they’d agreed to a new contract extension with Jones, who was scheduled to hit free agency next offseason. Multiple insiders, including NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport and the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed , later reported the deal is for three years and will keep the first-year captain in New England through the 2028 campaign. Salary figures weren’t known at the time of this writing.

Shortly after news of the contract broke, Jones used his X account to react with a prayer emoji.

A third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones has taken his game to a higher level this season.
