Two critically endangered tortoises were stolen from the Indianapolis Zoo, Indiana State Police stated

The zoo's Egyptian tortoise and Northern Spider tortoise — two species that both average 4 to 5 inches in length — were stolen between Oct. 11 and Oct. 12

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Capitol Police or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana

Two tortoises were stolen from an Indiana zoo — and now Indiana State Police is enlisting the help of the public.

On Oct. 27, Indiana State Police's capitol section called for public assistance in locating an Egyptian tortoise and a Northern Spider tortoise, both of which were stolen from the Indianapolis Zoo, per a press release . The two tortoises were abducted some time between 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 and 10 a.m.
