MOORHEAD — Moorhead Area Public Schools has notified families about a threat made over social media.
An email was sent to parents of students at Horizon Middle School on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 28.
The email, and a statement from the school district, contained similar information, including that Moorhead police notified Horizon West Middle School administration Tuesday about a social media group chat with a threat and an image of a gun.
Police began investigating immediately, identified the student responsible for the post, and the student is not in school Tuesday as police follow up with those involved, the statement read.
Law enforcement has confirmed there is no credible threat to the school, according to the district statement.
