The scientists at Miramax have apparently been working in the lab late at night coming up with an idea for an eerie sight. And what they’ve come up with is adapting someone else’s. The studio is turning Bobby “Boris” Pickett’s classic 1962 novelty Halloween song “Monster Mash” into an animated movie.
Miramax has optioned the right to “Monster Mash” from Reservoir and Capizzi Music Co. (news we first heard about at Deadline ). Pickett’s song, which he co-wrote with Lenny Capizzi, is the definitive Halloween playlist track despite not technically being about Halloween. In fact, it’s a song about a song.
