He’s a native of Chicago, but comedian and actor Milton “Lil Rel” Howery is a fan of Detroit, as well — so much so that he made his first film as a director in the Motor City.
Howery filed “Haunted Heist,” a genre-straddling comedy/horror/mystery film, during March, premiering it at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas during September. Howery also stars in the Carl Reid-written movie — about five estranged friends in a house one plans to rob — alongside Stephen Blackwell and Brett Gelman, which also features appearances by Tiffany Haddish and Detroit comics Martini Harris and Kesha E., who will also be performing with Howery on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Sound Board in the Motor City Casino Hotel.
