LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) has announced that it has been awarded a grant from the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF).
The grant money has been used to buy a van for travel, allowing expanded Dental Care access for the students in Clinton, Gratiot, Montcalm, and Shiawassee Counties.
“Taking dental care on the road is just one way we can address barriers to care,” says Holli Seabury, EdD, executive director of the DDF. “Vans like these are helping hygienists statewide deliver more preventive dental care to children and families.”
The van will help increase storage and hauling capabilities, and recognizable branding.
The grant also expands dental coverage into Shiawassee County schools, which are not in MMDHD’s jurisdiction.
