U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday he doesn't see any way that President Donald Trump could run for a third term in office, after Trump again mused about the possibility.
Answering a question from a reporter, Johnson, R-Benton, cited the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which limits presidents to two elected terms.
A staunch Trump ally , Johnson began his answer by praising Trump's record in office before addressing the Constitutional limitations a third Trump term faces.
"It’s been a great run, but I think the president knows, and he and I’ve talked about, the constrictions of the Constitution as much as so many of the American people lament that,” Johnson said.
