EXCLUSIVE: Archstone Entertainment has picked up world rights to Cookbook for Southern Housewives , a feature from 19-year-old filmmaker Josie Hull, which features the last on-screen performance from the late actor Michael Madsen .
Set in the gritty underbelly of the American South, the film spans 1969-1973 and follows Bonnie Carson, a restless housewife stuck in a passionless marriage. Tired of her monotonous life and longing for something more, she finds herself falling for a charming mobster who sweeps her into the ruthless world of the Dixie Mafia.
The film was written and directed by Hull, who penned the screenplay at 18. She directed and produced the film the following year.
