Armidale will soon have a new schooling option with the Highlands Christian School planning to open in January 2027.
An initiative of a group of Christian parents who desire an affordable Christian education for their children, the Melos Group, was approached to help start the school.
Executive principal, Phillip Nash, said the group is close to securing a location for the new school and plans to announce it before Christmas.
"We've been looking at a range of properties. We've settled on one, and we're just in the process of negotiating. What we can say is that the location will be in Armidale," Mr Nash said.
"We've had an incredible amount of interest already.
"Our schools are all grounded in a philosophy of education that sees the Christian faith informing the perspectives presented
