New Delhi: Now, when you receive a call from an unknown number, the caller’s name will appear on your mobile screen along with their number, without the need to use any app. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) have taken this step to prevent fraudulent calls.
This name will be the same as the one provided in the ID proof provided when purchasing a mobile number connection. This will be the default feature. If a user does not want this feature, they can deactivate it. Telecom companies conducted a trial of this service in the Mumbai and Haryana circles last year.
