Minnesota is one of the 26 states suing the Trump administration for what it contends is the illegal suspension of SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, during the federal government shutdown.

More than 440,000 Minnesotans who received SNAP benefits, a vital lifeline allowing low-income American residents to make grocery purchases, have been told that payments will not arrive in November due to the shutdown.
