MONTVILLE, Conn. (WFSB) - Police in Montville are warning residents as deer season is around the corner.

Officers have responded to three collisions involving deer just last week.

The police department posted on social media a video of one of the incidents where a officers were out on patrol when a deer was seen jaywalking in front of their cruiser.

Some tips for residents to keep in my mind this season when situations like these happen is:

Be alert at all times, especially at dawn and dusk.

Don’t try to “outmaneuver” a deer — just brake and hold your lane.

Whenever you see one, always expect another.
