CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Tuesday welfare check in Madisonville ended with a person in the hospital, according to Cincinnati Police Interim Chief Adam Hennie.
The interim chief said officers were called to a home on Haley Avenue around 2 p.m. for the welfare check.
After arriving, interim chief Hennie said officers were met by a person with a gun.
Officers fired their weapons at the armed individual, according to Hennie.
That person is now in the hospital and is expected to be okay, the interim chief said.
